Burns Night 2017
A very happy Burns Night from everyone at Eastern! Burns night is an annual tribute to the life of the great Scottish poet Robert Burns. Most renowned for his poem Auld Lang Syne, Burns is without a doubt one of Scotland’s most iconic sons.
Burns Night is typically spent eating haggis, neeps and tatties with family and friends; rejoicing with one another, having a drink and having fun.
This year, however, Edinburgh is celebrating the life of Rabbie Burns for an entire week. The Red Red Rose Street festival, taking place between the 21st – 27th of January, is designed to let everyone get to know and celebrate the famous poet laureate.
Whether you’re attending one of the many scheduled events such as the Bairns Burns Trail, learning more about Burns’ poetry, celebrating with local musicians or simply having a wee dram of whisky in one of the many pubs along Rose Street – there’s something for everyone at the Red Red Rose Street event. However, if you choose to spend Burns Night 2017, be sure to stroll along Rose Street at some point during the week.
We are delighted to get involved with this event and to be helping out with graphics throughout the street. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for them.
We hope everyone is having a great Burns Night!
